    Because:

    He tells us the truth.
    He treats his audience like adults, and doesn't dumb it down.
    He doesn't let the lies stand, and
    He treats both his audience and his guests with respect.

    The rest of the freaking media could LEARN from him.

    Oh yeah - and it doesn't hurt that he's funny, intelligent, ethical, compassionate... :)

          Bill O'Reilly's Tips for Teens, which is one of my top-ten favorite Countdown moments, ever.(Even though, no, Walter Cronkite would never do that. I bet he would've laughed though.)
          Also, when I heard Snooki was on "The Factor,", stupid as her show is, part of me was all "Snooki, Malmedy, loofahs, and Andrea Macris," If she had done it, the shock might have killed me, though.
