  •  I kept waiting for trade deficits (0+ / 0-)

And it never came.  No talk about how NAFTA was a lie, how China manipulates their currency to block our exports, how every country has a tariff against us, but we don't have one in return.

I kept waiting for mention of the massive oil trade deficit, and how much that drains our economy.  No mention of how all those trade deficits combine to drive up our public debt.

We don't need to cut government spending.  We need to import less and export more, close the trade deficit and have real fair trade that allows the American worker to be competitive at wages above $1/hr.

And I was quite disappointed.  Instead we got the "we need more education" line.  Wrong.  More education means American workers are more expensive.  We're still shipping tons of white collar IT and engineering jobs to low cost countries.  More education doesn't make a worker competitive against someone making 1/4th to 1/10th as much.
