  •  Constitutional Crisis (none)
Democrats in the General Assembly are forcing the issue.  The NC Constitution provides that the General Assembly is the judge of disputed elections.

After the Republican dominated Supreme Court ruling drew a substantial amount of editorial fire, Democrats drafted a bill in the State Senate to essentially transfer the resolution of the race to the General Assembly with no right of appeal to the State Courts.  The bill passed the State Senate with every Democrat on the floor at the time casting a "yes" vote and all Republicans in opposition.

The bill has gone to the State House where its fate is more uncertain at the moment.

However, several commentators are pushing the Republican candidate to concede the race in orer to avoid a constitutional "crisis" with the State Supreme Court.
