read your (as always good comments) about Limbaugh pulling back from Palin.

I hope he is. I read the Palinbots site open thread comments almost daily (ICK, glutton for punishment me), and they are constantly exulting in the fact that "Limbaugh is talking about Sarah again"!, "Rush has Sarah's back"! "Rush loves Sarah", etc., etc.

I look forward to some crestfallen comments in the future from them, with shamefully gleeful anticipation.

specific Limbaugh digs which related to an idiotic FB post, but I do think he's weighing her chances, which are slim to none, of getting the nomination against continuing to support her, which would go against mainline GOP agenda.

Link to DK FP re Palin's supporters:

Limbaugh is 60 years old and has more money than he could ever want or need.  He has power and can still influence the GOP, but it's my sense that even if he's thinking of retiring at the end of his contract or even sooner, he wouldn't want to go out with the Palin stain trailing behind him.

He could use Palin as a 'hostage' with the GOP, which wouldn't be beyond him, but why?

Palin's supporters are dumb and numb but if they do split the party over Palin, it's all good :)

      •  there are many examples of limbaugh and (0+ / 0-)

the RW media creating and hyping in ridiculous directions and then having to walk back or diverting attention or just moving on, and they usually get away with it primarily because the mechanism most useful for media management flies largely under the left's radar.

the immigration issue, "democrats/acorn are stealing elections", are examples of years of radio action that could easily have been fixed or hashed out rationally in the media but basically took way too much political time and caused way too many casualties on the left merely because the right can manage media so well.

the palin creation is a lot harder to manage and morph or put back in the box and she is too obvious to just go away.

Progressives will lose all major messaging battles until they picket the limbaugh/hannity megastations and boycott those stations' local sponsors.
