corporatist noise machine, most americans realize that the progressive way- the one for which no one is publicly advocating, thanks to dlc domination of our leadership - is the better way.

just as is the case with the overwhelming support for the "impossible to pass" medicare for all, some truths are so obvious that they can be arrived at instinctually, and in spite of relentless efforts to keep the truth hidden.

    •  YOu obviously have a different Senate in (0+ / 0-)

your world. Medicare for all would have flown through the House like shit through a goose.  And it would have flat died in the Senate.  NO gain.  But based on the gains from PPACA it is now entirely possible to do Medicare Buy In that will eventually end up as "single payer" if "single payer" is the best way to go.

      •  these "truths" are coming straight from your hind (0+ / 0-)

parts. we none of us knows what would have happened if the president hadn't taken single payer "off the table" or if he had actually twisted arms - like he did for the bob dole bill that was finally passed - as he does for legislation that he actually favors.

        - how, pray tell, does this insurance industry-drafed bill make medicare buy-in "entirely possible"?

        - no ifs: single payer is the only way to go if - and only if - your goal is to provide universal access to health care. as any insurance company ceo's accountant can tell you, health coverage is for suckers.
