    MTV is a boil on the face of its generation.  They show completely vapid, worthless, borderline pornographic content 24 hours a day and then get all high and mighty and censor all kinds of political content (or anything interesting for that matter.)*

    In this case, they made the video totally confusing by editing it.  In the original version of the video, it's clear that Jeremy is killing himself (you can find the original on the web or p2p networks).  With things like that, they'd be better off not showing the damn video at all, rather than butchering it.

    * Another example of their absurd censorship policy - they bleeped out the word "barrel" in the Sublime video "Santeria".  Removing that word had absoutely no effect on the violent content of the lyrics, and it is not an indecent word by any standard, and it's OBVIOUS what the guy is singing about whether the word is in there or not, but they felt it was important to cut it out anyway.
