  •  the biggest problem is (3+ / 0-)

the way the pro-choice crowd has historically chosen to talk about abortion in light of the way that the anti-abortion forces co-opted it into a discourse about "life" and removed it out of the discourse about decision-making.

The pro-choice forces simply did not have an adequate response to that very successful move by the right wing and they have never seemed to find one.

Women have let all of the feminist issues fall to the wayside as they became uncomfortable with the "feminist" label.  And feminists and other women didn't have an adequate option available to help women reclaim it.

.... is that basically it involves going up against well-organized and well-funded religion and religious doctrines, and that's almost taboo.  But that's the axis on which this has to be fought: that a whole list of claims advanced by religion are not just "arguable" but provably false.  (The existence of God and of an immortal soul are outside the scope of science because they can't be measured, but the rest of the following examples below are clear and unequivocal.)

Now consider a billboard campaign that involves all three of the following or something similar running at the same time:

      1.  Picture of the Earth.  Words:  "Round, not flat."
      1.  Picture of impressive astronomical object (star clusters, nebulae, etc.).  Words:  "Billions of years old, not six thousand years old."
      1.  Picture of sperm cells swimming around egg cell.  Words: "No brain, no mind, no person."

And if you really want to rub it in, add this one:

      1.  Picture of a chimpanzee (preferably a cute one).  Words:  "Your cousin.  Face the facts."

Also consider this one:  In school districts where religious righties are agitating for creationism or its equivalents in the classroom: Picket their churches, demanding evolution be taught in Sunday school.   Yes, that's crass and rude and mean and nasty, but do it anyway because it's fighting back on the same ground.

This is a battle that has to be waged on multiple fronts because if they win on one, they attack on the rest.  Therefore we have to attack on all fronts and not let up.

I assume your post means, for putting up subversive flyers that won't be noticed until they've been read by a few people whose opinions might be open to change.
