  •  Self-Employed Lawyer Working on a Holiday C&J (4.00)
Jeers to working on holidays.  But that's when the clients can come to see their lawyer, so. . . .  here I am.

Jeers to preschools and aftercare programs being closed on President's Day.

Cheers to a spouse who could take the day off and hang out with the kids.

Jeers to Republicans who are so partisan that if George Washington were on the ballot, 62% of them would still vote for Bush!  Seriously fucked up.

Cheers to the Air & Space Museum Annex out in Virginia near Dulles Airport.  Took the kids yesterday, and it was amazing.  The Enola Gay, a Concorde, a space shuttle, lots of amazing stuff in a very easy to see layout.  If you get to DC, go out and see the place.  And it's free!

Jeers to the fact that, while admission is free, parking is $12.  WTF?

Jeers to Sen. Inhofe, demanding member and donation lists from a witness who testified against Bush's "environmental" program.  These people really, really don't get it, do they?

And finally, Jeers to Howard Kurtz, who still either doesn't or won't get the point of the Guckert (I refuse to call him Gannon anymore) story.  It's not about sex, it's not about privacy, it's about fake journalism, partisan access, and access to classified documents used to smear a CIA agent.  Why is that so hard to understand?  My feeling is that it isn't that Kurtz doesn't get it, it's that he doesn't want to deal with it.  So blame the blogs.  At least we're important enough now to be blamed for shit.

    •  Don't you just wish (4.00)
that we could super troll rate Kurtz's columns in the WaPo?

      •  I read the Post (4.00)
every morning, being in the DC suburbs, and my wife can tell when Howie has a column.  I pick up the Style section, and within seconds, I have thrown it down in disgust, and start frothing at the mouth.

I can't even bring myself to watch him on TV.  Back when Media Whores Online was still around (man, I miss MWO), I would always, always vote for Kurtz as Whore of the Week, the Month, the Year, whatever.  He's my guy in that category, no matter what.  And if anything, things are worse now.

I miss them too.  I only found the site about 3 monts before it was pulled.  I found some old archived stuff, but I really wish it was back up.

I never missed an opportunity to vote for Howie. I miss that site soooooo much. I couldn't have made it thru the darkest days from Nov 2000 thru 2003 without them. All praise to the Horse!

    •  I agree with your George Washington comment. (4.00)

Thinking about the birth of the nation, when people like Franklin and Jefferson were conducting our diplomacy overseas...and comparing it to today with Dubya and Condi.  My god, what have we done to ourselves?
