That she would "...never forgive my fellow actor, Ronald Reagan, for never once mentioning the acronym 'AIDS' while he was in office."

He and Nancy made a major point of encouranging young people to "just say 'no'" to drugs, wouldn't it have behooved him to say "yes" to helping people living with HIV and AIDS get more readily-available, affordable treatment, and basic workplace rights? Of course, the latter may have been a stretch for him, seeing as he de-certified the air traffic controllers' union and fired most of them. And for that, the Repubs in Congress added his name to Washington National Airport--I still refuse to call it "Reagan National".

His tax cuts for the wealthy (the ORIGINAL "tax giveaway to the rich") took its supply-side based theory and started the run-up to the biggest Federal deficit and National Debt in history at the time, $296 billion and $4 trillion, respectively. Both Bill Clinton and Ross Perot got to run against that fantasy of an economic policy in 1992--and Poppy Bush was stuck trying to defend it, when he'd called it "Voodoo Economics" twelve years before. Clinton proceeded to turn it into a $138 billion SURPLUS, but only after Democratic allies in Congress paid a dear price at the polls in 1994 for passing his tax and budget legislation in 1993 setting the stage for deficit elimination. We paid a great price of a LOT of things Ronnie did--or rather, allowed to happen--while he was in office.
