  •  What the fuck are you talking about? (0+ / 0-)

    You are an ignorant fool.

AFTRA is made up of thousands of working people just like you. They have health care and a pension plan, thanks to the union.

I don't understand what AFTRA has done to you to make you so resentful of working people.

You are suffering under some delusion that every AFTRA member is some rich person.

    Where does that come from?

The only think I can figure out is that you are ignorant. You don't know anything about AFTRA's membership.

    •  And you don't know anything (0+ / 0-)

or give a fuck, about the rest of us.

The next thing you will need is cold hard cash. There is a one time initiation fee of $1,300 to join AFTRA, after that you will only be responsible for your yearly dues.
      3
You can work AFTRA without paying the initiation fee, but after 30 days you will become a "must join" and AFTRA will take all of your future checks until the total fee is paid off.

So what? There's an initiation fee. Always has been. I don't see how that is relevant to your argument. And just like all unions, there are dues.

How does that mean that I "don't know anything or give a fuck about the rest of us?"

So you're saying that people who pay the initiation fee are "rich boys" and some kind of "elites?"

You can Taft-Hartley in and not pay the fee at once.

Why are you so resentful of other working people who happen to be union members? How are those people or their union harming you? Those people are members of a union that fought for and won health care benefits and a pension plan.

Your anti-union rantings here are bizarre, frankly.

A vast majority of AFTRA members are working people earning a living wage for their work. I don;t know where you come up with all of your uninformed garbage about "rich boys," "elites" and "filet mignon."

Not many voiceover talents are getting rich, union or not. But at least union members are getting health care and a retirement plan.

Apparently, that's more than you can bear.

        •  as a member of the NJEA (0+ / 0-)

thank you for taking a stand for the unions. we have nonunion private school teachers and directors who bash our union too, and complain about the fees, and how it would be ok if only the NEA stayed out of politics ( WTF???)Yeah the fact that private school staff have no pensions, no healthcare, no tenure( fair dismissal process, so save it ) is directly related to no fucking union. Kestrel sounds embittered. Perhaps if he/she is unsatisfied with the current union, he could opt for another, don't know...

... union on Daily Kos from this uninformed, ignorant garbage.

I asked this poster over and over how AFTRA or union workers had harmed him and he had...

            Nothing.

Just reactionary, rightwing union bashing. On a Democratic site, no less.

            It makes me fucking sick.

Then maybe he'd have a pot to piss in.
