are islands of blue (light blue for Leon) in a sea of red.

Rick Scott has zero idea of what it is like to be a govt. worker.  I am retired from local govt. and even back when I was working, I would never have wanted to work for the state. Being state worker was no picnic even years ago.

My former state senator, Al Lawson, wrote an op-ed recently in which he stated that over 6,000 state employees earn so little that they are eligible for food stamps.

But when you read the comments on newspaper websites the vitriol and hate towards state employees is astounding. They think we deserve it and the term "gravy-train" is tossed around.

Meanwhile we make at least 5% less than comparable positions in the private sector and generally much less than that.

they hate you for your "benefits."  Why?  'cuz they don't have any and they resent the hell out of people who do.  This is the obvious result of the elimination or severe cuts in benefits in the private sector.

Zen is not easy. It takes effort to attain nothingness. And then what do you have? Bupkes.
