    •  There was a movement a few years back (0+ / 0-)

      for fair taxes in this state.  What it would do is require a super majority in both houses if a sales tax was to be EXEMPT.  Obviously, it got very little traction because the opposition argued that supporters wanted more taxes... but the truth is that the ONLY taxes the legislature exempts are those that benefit special interests or the super wealthy.  They will cut every necessary service before they fucking ask the obscenely wealthy to give up their subsidies.
