Anyway but I don't believe this would affect the Hyde Amendment either way.  That's what makes the GOP look so phony about the entire process except to only their far right-wing religious (sic) conservatives.

Mr. Boehner where are the jobs?

we wouldn't be having this discussion.

I do wonder however how this argument about how everything between an abortion and Federal money is so connected, ala the six degrees of Kevin Bacon, and the presumed rightfulness of the Federal government to reach the entire distance in between to get at the abortions, will affect the scope of the necessary and proper and commerce clauses whichare probably its foundation if it has any, in the HCR litigations saying you can't make a person buy an insurance policy if you are the Feds. If one is constitutonal, the other will be as well.

however IMO one is a restriction on a woman's right to choose what to do about their own body and even state laws prohibiting abortion have been ruled unconstitutional.  By singling out a single medical procedure as being exempt from allowance as a tax deduction it is in effect a limit on the freedom of all women in this country.
I am not a lawyer so this is a layman's opinion but unless laws requiring individuals to purchase auto insurance or be subject to a fine are also considered unconstitutional, the requirement to purchase health insurance or pay a tax penalty surely would not be.
That's my take anyway but with the current right-wing crew in the USSC anything is possible.

Mr. Boehner, where are the jobs?
