I wish I could have my primary vote back. Planned to vote for MacAuliffe because I thought he would run a smart, tough and energetic campaign against McDonnell. But then Dems started saying that Deeds was the only Dem who could could carry the state, and the WaPo endorsement for Deeds sealed the deal. Should have gone w/ my gut. At least McAuliffe would have put up a fight. Deeds the Candidate never really showed up. When he threw Obamas HRC bill under the bus, he lost me.

No elected official should enjoy more than the worst medical plan available to their constituents. In the US, that would be no plan.

McAuliffe was the real wild-card.  Moran wasn't viable.  Deeds appeared to be the safe choice -- the one that the GOP worried the most about.  He ran close in 2005 against McDonnell, so the thought was that all he'd need was a little luck and skill to overcome his margin of defeat in 2005.  McAuliffe though would have run a much stronger general election campaign.  I don't second-guess too many votes that I make, but that's also one that I'd like to have back.  Deeds was running into a head-wind, but he also did himself no favors.  McAuliffe would have worked his tail off as he had in the months proceeding the primary.  He might have lost, but I think he also might have lost by a lot less.  Deeds completely demobilized the base.  McAuliffe at least generated some enthusiasm with his supporters.
