    on the issue of internal instability in Egypt?

    I still have my doubts that the US is telling the full story here.

      isn't ready to move in the security council.

            Neither does the Suez Canal.

            China would only be interested on the issue of general uprising in the oil rich Middle East, which is a distinct, though I suppose related concern.

              what looks to be a growing trend of countries in the region to try to overthrow their previously stable dictatorships, Egypt is important and China isn't unaware of any of this.

              This is a region of the world that supplies a lot of energy to a lot of nations that are hungry for it. It also transports a lot of good thru the Suez. China isn't impervious to either of those facts.

              China cares very much what happens in this country - it's far more savvy than what you're giving it credit for, imo.
