on what I read off the BBC Liveblog. There are other, real, concerns as well, for example this:

    1. Former Egyptian army General Samah Seif El Yazal tells the BBC: "There are two directions the Higher Military Council can go. The first is to ask the existing government to run the country for a transitional period of perhaps a year. The other option is for the military to run the country by committee. We are very anxious to hear from them about what they intend to do."

I'm just saying, we must wait for official word. Fact is WE DON'T KNOW what will happen next.

I understand the Egyptian Army takes an oath to serve the people of Egypt and they take their oath seriously.

This could turn out to be same old, same old but like one protester said to a NY Times reporter, "We know our way to the Square."

    •  a lot more than those two options (0+ / 0-)

for the Egyptians at this point, including what has been announced, bringing in their high court.

They need a constitutional convention to set up a truly democratic system, vote to adopt it and  then elections to fulfill the government roles.  They may choose a differnt route, but that is one way to go to legitimize the new government with the populace.
