  •  the LoC's flickr account (0+ / 0-)

has public domain Library photos pretty well covered. Also the National Archives flickr is pretty neat.

    •  I had some other sources... (0+ / 0-)

... in mind.  Personally, I don't think the few items offered up in a Flickr account cover it.  But perhaps you are far more experienced and knowledgeable than I on such matters.

      Or not.

      •  Well, the LoC (0+ / 0-)

keeps adding more, so perhaps they've got greater depth than you're remembering. Also the National Archives have posted some pretty interesting stuff (including a bunch from the Documerica project on environmental issues in the 70s).

The LoC does have a lot of the classic Depression-era FSA stuff up, and some of the more obscure works at that. The amount of Jack Delano's color work from the late 30s and War Era they've put up is impressive.

Again, it's not the be all and end all, but Flickr is an approved photo host, and their interface makes sharing on a third party site a snap.

        •  Right. It must be that... (0+ / 0-)

... I don't know what I'm talking about.  Never mind that I've spent, literally, 100s of hours researching through various collections of the LoC.  But anything worth looking at (or learning from) is on their Flickr account.  Or will be soon.

          Whatever.
