    •  Commercially made pemmican (4+ / 0-)

is readily available and is fairly good.

    •  As you would expect, it depends on the ingredients (4+ / 0-)

If you're trying to make it tasty, you can. But if your just trying to figure out what to do with that 200 lbs. of bear meat well . . . lets just say no matter how much cranberry or blueberry or other flavoring you put in, it's still gonna just be pemmican. You can live on it, it keeps forever, but it will never be your first choice or second or third for that matter.

But if you use good meat, good berries, it's pretty good.

a little about it. And from this post it sounds.. not so bad. But from what i've read it was usually made of things like bird mean and fat with anything that made it not taste like it taste throwin in.  In other words you were eating a big bundle of fat, carbs and protein so it would keep you alive but not necessarily make you happy about it.

On a dif note and to keep from spamming this thread:

This is one of the many many reasons our founders were NOT fans of corporatism or what we would call modern american capitalism. They did NOT allow the unlimited usery we have now and they barely tolerated corporations. The idea of a corporation contributing too/backing an american politician at the time would have been viewed as near treason.
