  •  In one of the semi-frequent arguments that (4+ / 0-)

    breaks out about the Civil War, I saw someone argue that slavery was on its way out anyhow, so if Lincoln and the North had just rode it out for (unspecified period of time), the South would have no more slaves because it was no longer economically feasible.

    I had computer/connectivity problems then, so wasn't able to ask specific questions, like how many more generations in slavery would have been acceptable.
