    From a user's perspective, your now asking them to interact with each title for a very limited preview.

    A reader should just be able to scan material quickly.  It is a very poorly designed interface.

      I discovered something about software interface design. It hasn't changed in all these years, and has gotten much more true. While there are poorly designed interfaces, they are ignored because they are so bad. Anyone complaining about poor design is really just fostering an opinion, putatively and educated one, but of no more value than any other. For every clear application of one's favorite guidelines of "good" design, there are contradictory guidelines that often just address a different community of users.

      That said, I believe there should be a nice little master toggle so you can flip the diary list back and forth from preview (with all the loss of real estate) and mouse-over mode. I'm hoping we're all going to be impressed by how many of those little niceties get added in the coming seasons. For all the glitches and bitches, I am incredibly impressed with how tight the thing is. Congratulations to the team.
