  •  We've already had two diaries this morning, (7+ / 0-)

out of the four that have been posted this morning after 7am, go from Rescued to Recommended.  It really is having a dramatic impact on how many people are reading the diaries that are rescued.  I'm so pleased for all the diarists.  More eyes is always a good thing, it keeps writers, especially new one or those that toil away in anonymity for a while, from getting discouraged.  Good writers need encouragement to keep them going.

    •  This is the key (6+ / 0-)

too much good stuff was falling by the wayside, and we were losing good diarists discouraged when their first few efforts were ignored.

It was always a problem, and one of the key reasons I rebuilt the site (as you can see here).

      •  Thank you, Markos, for giving those diarists (4+ / 0-)

the chance to thrive.  This kind of response to their work wouldn't have been possible had you not put your efforts into building Community Spotlight and your faith in the rangers to do our job in the best possible conditions.

The rangers were giving their best efforts in DK3, but there's only so much you could do with that one FP post at the end of the night.  So many of the diaries couldn't be recommended due to the expiration factor, and the conversations that diarists thrive on just weren't happening.  No one wants to try to have a conversation in a dead thread.  But now a whole new world has opened up to those diarists, new conversations are taking place that both encourage and inspire them.  It's a marvelous thing to see.

So thank you for your support.  I can't thank you enough for that.

Im so excited...my diaries always always always sink directly to the bottom of the list. I am grateful for a little exposure!

We all have photographic memories. Some people just don't have any film.

are the reason we do this.  Good writers need encouragement and  that's what we're here for.

        And you're welcome.  ;-)

is that it's only got six listings. Sometimes the Rescue Rangers would save up to a dozen. I'll make due by following the rescue tag, but wish the box could expand as needed.

It's not just a zip code, it's an attitude.

and you can page back in time indefinitely.

Also, if you go to their group page, http://www.dailykos.com/... you can see them with any notes left by the rangers.

Fry, don't be a hero! It's not covered by our health plan!

            •  But that takes me to the previous day's (0+ / 0-)

chosen six, correct? I'd rather be able to page down, so to speak, through as many diaries considered worthy of SC within a day, as opposed to a limit to six per day.

          •  If you look in the lower right corner (0+ / 0-)

of the Community Spotlight box, you'll see a "Next" button.  All the diaries we've put up since the new site opened can be accessed by clicking backward through that list.  They're all there as a permanent record.  So we saved 18 diaries on one day you can access the 12 you didn't see by clicking back through the next two pages.
