    The benefits from biodiversity are not an immediate, marketable product, but are more like a community insurance policy.  It wouldn't likely benefit a company to preserve biodiversity, at least not directly, because those benefits wouldn't be returned solely to that company.

      protect it for them so they can profit from it later on.
