Joblessness continues to plague Ohio.  People are worried and upset and they're not in a mood to blame a bunch of underpaid public workers.

Chris Matthews, of all people, was saying as much this evening when talking about Wisconsin.  He told the GOP pundit on his show that their talk of cutting government spending isn't gaining traction with people who are unemployed or worried about their jobs.

For once, Matthews is right, the GOP strategy of shifting blame for the bad economy to government spending and public employees isn't going to work.

Who knows what or who is propping up the dead tree media in Ohio?  They can't stay afloat much longer either without some form of private "subsidy".

that at the Cleveland Plainly Republican (Plain Dealer), the coverage — and its endorsement of Kasich — is motivated by publisher Terrance Egger's hatred of unions. And supposedly the new editor is kind of a milquetoast type so she's probably being steamrolled by him.

whichever one is serving at any given time, anyway.

Bottom line, Alex Machaskee and Brent Larkin  were and still are water carriers for the GOP and the big money interests in NE Ohio.

It's convenient for them to blame the editor of the month, but the GOP and big business control the PD.  All those trips Karl Rove makes to the PD during election years tell very much.
