are just angry people "venting".  So I am not sure if a serious comment will be appreciated.

My prediction on what you will see is a modest budget reduction in the CR.  Boehner will judge how much of a reduction the "center" of the country would accept and let the Democratic Senate and President decide how badly they want no reduction.

Hopefully the Senate Dems and the President will not shut the government down over a reduction considered small by the average American.  Of course ANY reduction in the CR would be met by howls here!

This is just the first of many battles and I think Boehner is smart enough to look to the next battle and work into it gradually.

I haven't heard yet if teachers in Wisconsin are having another "sick out".  If they continue calling in sick, this could put pressure on the Senate and President to give in on a small reduction of the CR.  Now, I know that people here mostly predict based on what they would do.  But I have seen several strikes by teachers and transit workers in the past.  None gained wide public support because no one wants to miss work because someone else walks off the job.  And, unfortunately for the teachers in Wisconsin, I think they will feel the pressure if they continue the "sick out".

    •  They are framing the discussion. (2+ / 0-)

As I indicated, listen carefully to the media Heathers, the fucking blowhards on talk radio and TV .. they are preparing the poor to be happy with 3rd world living conditions.

They are Barbara Bushing the lower caste to get them to shut the fuck up, as they are "underprivileged anyway, so this is working very well for them" .. the underlying message from Boehner and Republicans is that the poor should be happy:

"We aren't machine gunning you down in the streets like they are Manama and Benghazi.

Republicans totally abandoned conservatism in the 1980s ..

      •  And Republicans are good at framing the (0+ / 0-)

discussion.  Even if Democrats don't back Boehner in a corner, he's the one who's been talking about shut down & it's going to be his responsibility

I bet he's over his head & his big mouth is making things worse for him.
