    did we learn nothing from the R2000 debacle? any firm that cranks out partisan polls should be suspect. plus, when you look at both sides, it's helpful to remember that the truth likely lays somewhere in the middle.

          our pollsters give us. That's how problems are discovered and can be crosschecked and verified by others. it's got nothing to do with L or R polls.

          The sponser is immaterial (but should always be public) with a good pollster. But it's all about the pollster.

      Mark blumenthal in the linked story has a good discussion of the partisan issue... maybe worth 3 points, and this poll is beyond that kind  of error.
