I'm 46 and I'm already drowning! I'm not going to make it to 55 let alone 70. These clueless upper class twits need to be forced to live in my shoes for one month, then tell me I'm going to be okay.

is because you are too lazy and money grubbing to EARN the wealth.  That's is the only explanation.  If only you'd work for a living instead of wanting government to hand you everything.

I believe this kind of attitude has been with us a very long time.  I'm currently reading a book on the Panama Canal (David McCullough).  It is truly fascinating how long we clung onto the belief that we, Americans would not have an issue with yellow fever and malaria because we were infinitely superior in moral fiber to the French (not to mention the natives).  Cleanliness and moral fiber was what prevented yellow fever and other tropical diseases.  And the poor bugger (Dr William Gorgas) who plugged away trying to get anyone to buy into the data that proved the disease was transmitted by mosquitoes.  Kind of reminds me of today's Republican attitudes.

until we married about 5 yrs ago.

For 12 years, she raised two kids with an antagonistic ex-spouse who refused to pay child support.  Meanwhile, he's building his business, buying bigger houses, benefiting from the housing bubble...

Now she's 44 years old and she hasn't saved for retirement - or the kids' college.  She didn't do anything wrong.  She got left by a philandering spouse who profited from abandoning his wife and children.

We live in a society that financially rewards greed, and punishes responsible parents like my wife.

      This must change.

Stop clapping. Stop screaming. Open your mind. Listen.

and work with the elderly. Both are in their mid 50's and I don't know how the heck either will be able to continue to work until they are 70!  As an RN, I certainly had it physically easier than they do but the wear and tear takes a toll on your body. I have been disabled for almost 8 yrs now because of this wear and tear.
It is one thing to be Senator McCain who sits on his ass all day and another to be a worker who does heavy lifting etc every day.
