  •  The good thing about the Packers (3+ / 0-)

    is that they are essentially owned by the people of Wisconsin, so there is no profit motive there. Their 'ownership agreement' basically states that, should the team ever be sold, the shareholders get their money back (no interest/profits/dividends), and any residual profit must be used on some sort of public works projects (I forget exactly what). In other words, no one can make money by selling the team.
