what the two weeks aims for is the debt ceiling increase, a matter on which they are still having hopes of blackmail, in part because so many of their Tea Partiers are prepared not to extend the ceiling. It is tempting to just let them fall into the double hole they have created, but that will take all American working people with it. But that does not mean folding, as Schumer did not fold, and rather put the shoe of blame back on the R foot.

and I'm having trouble parsing your statements. If I understand you correctly, you seem to be saying that we should give in now so we won't have to give in 2 weeks from now over the same batch of numbers? (If I'm not getting you right, please forgive me.)
Remember, the worth of this 2 week extension is simply 1/26 of their budget--in essence, it's the same "offer" with smaller numbers. Accepting it this time would be folding.
