this one in the more "traditional" vein:

There were once two billionaires who bought Nantucket

They put all their plans in a bucket.

But when it came time to break up the Unions,

Their man Walker, was too prone to confusion.

And as for their plans, their man Scott, well he spilt the bucket.

    the template:

The earliest variant was published in 1902 in the Princeton Tiger:
There once was a man from Nantucket
Who kept all his cash in a bucket.
            But his daughter, named Nan,
            Ran away with a man
And as for the bucket, Nantucket.

    Thanks Richard for the diversion!

that limericks' last line can have the same last word as in first or second line.

      A personal favorite

There was a young lady from Niger
Who smiled as she rode on a tiger
      They returned from the ride
      With the lady inside
And the smile on the face of the tiger

That is perhaps a good one for parents to recite to their young teens, esp girls, as they start to venture out into the world of wild parties and poor judgment - careful who you 'joyride' with... >:- 0

Then there was that poor old man:

There was an old man with a beard
Who said, "It is just as I feared!
      Two owls and a hen,
      Four larks and a wren
Have all made a home in my beard!

      Dont let yourself go?

Should a "progressive" Dem blog dwell in the safe zones of a lame party, or should it drive a lame party to break out? If it cant, should it break out?
