  •  Man, today was an amazing day. (0+ / 0-)

No politics at all.  Just the very last home men's basketball game in the original Pauley Pavilion at UCLA.  It's undergoing a renovation all of next year, so we won't have a home arena to play in until Fall 2012.  We hosted #10 Arizona in a huge matchup, and we blew them out by 22 points!

But what made it so incredibly special was that in the house that Coach Wooden built, basically unchanged since it first opened in 1966, and with him having just passed away less than a year ago, his great-grandson, a walk-on on the team, scored the very last basket in the arena's history.

To have that happen... you just can't write that.  A Hollywood script that had that in there would be deemed too unrealistic.  But it happened.  And the crowd just ERUPTED.

To be a part of that, the final home crowd in "old" Pauley Pavilion HISTORY... that's something I will cherish for the rest of my life.

Oh yeah, and moving into a tie for first place in our conference with the blowout victory, and basically ensuring that we WILL make the NCAA Tournament this year, helped too.  8-)
