Germanys elite joined the US (via the IMF) in demanding that Ireland bail out these banks or see her economy ruined.

Germany than loaned Ireland some of the bailout cash at market rates....after already making sure that it would basically be spent bailing out wealthy Germans.

Ireland ain't Greece.  She wasn't giving out pensions she couldn't fund.

Will the revolution be easier if we HR each other a lot?

Greece wasn't giving out pensions it couldn't fund either.

The media did a good job on getting people to believe Greeks were living high on the hog, and most progressives bought the story.

In both countries, the story is the same. Global capital feasted on corruption and sent both countries careening as the treasuries were looted. people can say all they want about Greek bureaucracy, but the truth is, 700k gov't workers earning less than an average of $7k will never leave you with the amount of debt Greece incurred.

The story of Greece resides in the numbers, not in the fantasies that are spun by media to get people thinking one way about Greece.

There are two kinds of people in this world. The kind who divide the world into two kinds of people, and the kind who don't.
