        Sec. are coming after everyone.  Even our tiny school is under fire.  State is trying to force us to merge with another district, although we already reach across two townships and rural kids are on buses for almost an hour now.

      the only time we ever heard a word from the state about our superintendent was when the School Committee voted to remove the requirement of passing the state standardized test for graduation- we wanted to adopt an alternative path to graduation...

      the state said- go ahead, we'll just take away the license of your superintendent.

      beyond that, the state has no say in who we hire to run the schools.  unless they commit a crime. or  the system goes bankrupt.
