  •  Huge news (6+ / 0-)

I've been telling people that, as much as I cheer on the thousands who are marching in the streets, it will mean shit unless they can get 3 Republicans to vote against Walker's plan.

If you can get one, you can get three.

among senators, but I wouldn't otherwise say this protest "will mean shit," as it could be the beginning of a renewed Labor movement in this country. In other words, the short term matters here, most definitely, but the long term is just as important.

for them to offer something, sometime, because all of the concessions are on the other side, and they're losing this.

Intransigence and intractability won't work, and the recalls will be the next meaningful thing to happen. Who really wants to go down with Scott? It's quite clear how he'll be perceived in history.

As for the shittiness, it's gotta make you go ewwww when you think about it, or that's not what it is.

Another two weeks and we'll have 3 or 4.

Where are the jobs, Governor Walker???

Walker needed an act of the legislature to push his budget announcement back a week.

Walker needs political capital to push his budget through, and it'll be DoA when he gives the speech on Tuesday, no matter what happens. This speech is traditionally given to a joint session in the capital, and they scrapped that idea long ago.

They're probably only looking to give a glimmer of hope, and see what happens.

Just you wait: How likely is it that one of the three Nos could be flipped back to a Yes at the last minute? There's been a pattern of shameless lying by Walker all along, and shamelessness is just about all Walker has to keep him going.

I'd think the last few weeks have pretty much destroyed that.

I'll be interested to here his speech on Tuesday. If he digs himself an even deeper whole than the one he's in, then there is no hope for the idiot. I keep hoping he'll see the position he's in and step back from the brink, but he seems too wrapped up in his Walker: Wisconsin Ranger, Slayer of Unions fantasies.

...before that happens. Less embarrassing that way.
