  •  Same way they ignored anti-war protests... (4+ / 0-)

... and either didn't cover them or did so in a very, very few seconds, mentioned only in passing, before Dumbya and Dickie and Rummy and the rest of the lying criminal cohorts shoved their illegal and unconstitutional war down our throats.

Media Morons are corporations and all corporations do is exchange money back and forth.

It's like a giant laundering scheme between corporations.  Drug companies donate to media (TV, radio, billboards, magazines, whatever); insurance donates for their ads for medical needs, cars, recreational vehicles; pharmaceutical corporations donate to media for every kind of pill known to humankind, useful or dangerous (ask your physician for a prescription... better yet, ask your pharmacist how dangerous it might be or read a web site with all the technical info to discover the side effects are worse than the benefits and figure out you just wasted your money because insurance wouldn't pay for it); medical corporations advertise their facilities.  Auto manufacturers donate  to advertise for their gas guzzlers - and manufacture smaller vehicles that get better gas mileage that they sell overseas because "they say" Americans won't buy small, economical vehicles.  How the hell would they know?  They have only offered the big gas guzzlers here in this country..., which enriches the petroleum/oil corporations who advertise in every media medium there is.  If we can't afford the gas, there's always plastic credit cards (made from petroleum) provided by banks with which to buy gas..., and food and other necessities when we can't afford to buy things with the money we earn from working more than 40 hours a week.  Don't forget the financial planners advertising how they can help you invest your money on Casino Wall Street.  (Remember the first rule of casinos and gambling:  The House always wins.  Always!  That goes for the biggest gambling establishment of all on Wall Street.)

Notice..., all that money exchanges hands at the corporate level.  It doesn't reach down this far because we're too busy paying them what they demand.

They feed us circuses in the media (most of it not even good entertainment for the amount of money they're raking in) and fat bread, and we sit around and watch and talk about meaningless crap because media doesn't talk about anything really important..., unless it's from a Repuke and/or Tea-Bagger point of view that they cram down our throats via "news" delivered by perky announcers (which I think might be shills for the Chamber of Commerce the way they sell how good a time people can have at the nearest festival of some kind going on in the vicinity).

What was the "most important thing" ABC could talk about on GMA this morning, even before the Academy Award winners that they had so much stake in last night because they aired it and because one of the GMA hosts was on the red carpet last night???  Any of the Oscar winners...?  No.  That stupid f-up, Charlie Sheen, and they showed segments of the interview throughout the morning, and it was repeated in local "news" broadcasts at noon and the early evening hours, starting at 4:30 p.m., going to 7:00 p.m.  They're glorifying his drug use, dammit!  I got so disgusted I hit the Mute button and haven't listened to any more "news" or "infotainment news" on ABC all day, local or national.  Occasionally I glance up and see what info is next to the anchor's heads and I can easily figure out what's being said if I can't read their lips all the time.

THAT is what the Minneapolis-St. Paul ABC affiliate aired today and had blurbs about all day when the "news" was not on (before I hit the Mute button).  If they mentioned Wisconsin, I missed it.

BTW, the MSP ABC affiliate is owned by Hubbard Broadcasting, a Repuke family who donated money to several Repuke candidates..., and most notably, in 2004, they donated five figures to the Swiftboaters in VA who were running ads against Kerry.

    'Nuf said, I think.

Not that I'm disgusted or anything.... I'm just sayin.'
