No you may not be allowed some cynicism.

Koch & co. has declared war on every American who makes less than seven figures. We didn't start the class war, but like it or not, we're in it. So no, we don't have time for a pity party.

The Tea Party is organizing right now. They're out there twisting the facts and spinning their lies. Twain was right when he said that a lie can travel halfway around the world while the truth is still putting on its shoes.

So you don't have time for cynicism right now, because we need you. We need everyone. We need to knock on doors, we need to talk to people at the grocery store, in the line for our lunch, in waiting rooms, in coffee houses, and we need to make phone calls.

We can beat them. There are more of us then there are of them, and this is still a democracy. It's not going to be easy. Easy is drinking the cool-aid, and dropping out. It's easy to pretend that you don't matter because it absolves you of any responsibility to act.

Freedom is a constant struggle, and we don't have the luxury of sitting back and indulging in post-ironic boredom anymore. Because if we act like we're powerless, then pretty soon we really will be powerless.

We can win this, but we need to stand up now.
