  •  I turned around beginning in my early 20s (7+ / 0-)

    and was inculcated with conservative ideology - highly subtle, btw - for only a handful of years prior.

    It took a combination of being away from home (college) and going through some stark and strong personal experiences . . . to bring my liberal, compassionate (and curious) nature back to the fore, subtly forcing a reevaluation of "accepted truths" that I had acquired over the course of a few years.

    Therefore, I feel that circumstances and peer influences can affect one's ability to drop the comforting view of being fully "correct" under conservative/right-facing libertarian ideology; all else can be plausibly denied, from my experience.

    "So, please stay where you are. Don't move and don't panic. Don't take off your shoes! Jobs is on the way."
