    I live in Massachusetts, too, and my library is simply not big enough to provide the range of services that BobBlueMass describes.  It's an old Carnegie building on a small, oddly shaped plot of land, there's almost no parking, and the rest of the lot is taken up by the town war memorials.  There is no room to expand and no land near downtown that could be used to build a new facility.

    They do what they can, and so far no one's complained too much about the library.  But realistically speaking, if the town wants something along that BobBlueMass model, it's going to mean a new building and a Prop 2 1/2 override, which isn't going to happen since we just had an override and a significant tax increase to pay for the new high school.
