    in the future.
What we are witnessing is the disassembly of the Democratic Party by the Right Wing, with eager assissts from so, so many Democratic politicians.
The "regional rump party" of early 2009 has (unsurprisingly, imo) triumphed over the "ascendent" dems in record time, they have substantially dismantled many bulwarks of party power, they have Citizens Untied, and they have the tireless devotion to destruction that we simply cannot match with our aggregate lukewarm desire to make things slightly less awful for the majority of Americans.

We are in the endgame. does anyone still doubt that?
When the "budget repair bill" masquerade can be dropped in WI, so the union-busting bill could pass as simply a union busting bill, there is no longer any fear of electoral backlash. It no longer matters that 82% of Americans want to fine the rich for their excesses. It no longer matters that large majorities want prosecutions of banksters or a public option for health care or an end to the endless war in Afghanistan. it doesn't matter because the people no longer matter. The rich can fund the politicians without us, and they are glad to do so. it's an incredibly lucrative investment.
It doesn't matter any more than it matters that some passionate but poorly armed people want some dignity in Libya. There are powerful players that will not tolerate those wishes, so that is the end of it.
I don't think Walker overreached one bit. I don't think Qaddafi did either. they are both ruthless enough to know they can beat their opposition into bloody mush, so they wiil. and they are.

But I think that because I think in the end the legitimate opposition government will start getting major arms shipments from the new governments of Tunisia and Egypt.
