  •  It's because Democrats don't have the (9+ / 0-)

courage or the conviction to nail down what it means to have intellectual integrity.

I guess because "intellectual" is a pejorative to a Conservative.

Claiming the "higher moral ground" means at one time or another he who claims it should be standing on it.

Republicans don't get this distinction and Democrats aren't calling them on it.

    Sex?

There are people who sat in on Clinton's impeachment who were later guilty of marital infidelity; none of them resigned of their own will. Some were never even asked to resign by their party who insisted that such behavior makes one unfit for office.

Mark Sanford never resigned. No Republican asked him to.
John Ensign never resigned. No one asked him to.

Mark Foley and Larry Craig both got tacit support from the Right, claiming the whole thing was nothing more than political dirty tricks.

    Deficits?

Reagan, Bush 41 and Bush the W had some of the biggest deficits in history, there was no government shutdown or cries about our grandchildren from Republicans.

And unless we forget, Bush W and Cheney - most of his cabinet - are guilty of war crimes.

Republicans have no objectivity, no shame. We're fools to expect them to play fair - they think Jesus loves them and the rest of us are terrorists.

until Democrats (and that means us out here in the general population) realize that what faces us now is far WORSE than what brought us into the streets in the 1960's, the people who just stand and cry about it are going to win.

George Orwell is banging on the lid of his coffin and screaming, "1984 was a cautionary tale, you dolts, not a motivational speech!"
