  •  Inscrutable Garlic tainted by process? (6+ / 0-)

Are they putting the lead in coincidently
    by unknowingly using improper apparatus?
They couldn't possibly be using it to increase the
gross weight for outright fraud purposes, I trust.

I hadn't heard about lead in garlic, but then it
seems to be a common problem from China.

What is the source of the lead?
Is it related to agriculture in or
    around toxic areas, or grown
    with contaminated water sources?

Are we talking random or rare trace amounts
-an isolated problem-or is this more of a widespread
    systemic environmental issue?

What were our own local garlics lead levels like
when we had lead in the gasoline and paints
or in our plumbing systems? What are they like now?

As a totally self appointed knight, or rather, squire
of the stinking rose, I can not express how sad this makes me.
I wonder if all of the Chinese buffets in the US use local,
or imported garlic? If it is in the garlic, it can also be in anything.

Thanks for all of your efforts.
