    The implication is that this judge is somehow under the sway of the government, that she is acting as a rubber stamp for their requests, and that is an extraordinary claim that has been made without any evidence.

      I say this because, except for snark, when the "extraordinary" clause is quoted it's almost always in connection with some direct or indirect threat of getting site admins to exercise their authority as content police.

        only that the independence of the judiciary is one of the truly great things about this country, its willingness to stand up to the government and say no, and this sort of simplistic, wanna-be revolutionary rhetoric elides the fact that the "Obama government" did not push this through with sinister and conspiratorial motives.

        I'm sorry, but that distinction is a big deal to me.
