    . . . Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? and Suddenly Last Summer, but I think my favorite Taylor movie is Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, in which she is terrific in ways that go beyond acting.  She is Maggie the Cat, that affirmative life force who can detect "an odor of mendacity" from a mile away, and Maggie for me will always be Elizabeth.  She made the world a better place while she was in it, and she made it more fun, as well.  Of how many people can that be said?
