    While I was at the Mud Volcano area photographing the sulphur springs a bear jam popped up for a grizzly up a hill. A pair of rangers was there in no time flat, one directing traffic and the other stopping idiots from walking up the hill towards the bears. And yes there were several idiots that tried.

    Note to the DSLR users...if you are going to Yellowstone and can't afford a long lens, you can rent them. There are several outfits online where you can rent a lens. That's what I do. I have the lenses I need for landscapes but haven't taken the plunge for the expensive glass for wildlife. For a $100 or so, you can rent a lens that goes to 400mm for a week. You will get much better shots than those with a short kit lens.
