that our First Black President is cowardly, and afraid of being assassinated, so he is caving in to the corporatists and banksters.  Yes, I have read these comments on DK over the last few days....

These are overwhelmingly White, well-educated, upper middle class folks who can talk about how cowardly a high-profile Black man is in this society and get recs for it.

I've been reading this and shaking my head considering that Giffords was a target only weeks ago.

    •  I am amazed by his courage - and he (7+ / 0-)

is quickly turning gray.  He not only has to worry about himself - but his wife and kids and mom-in-law.

He still wades into crowds, shakes hands, kisses babies and old ladies as if he doesn't have a care in the world about security.

I think that anyone who made a remark like that really doesn't know much about history Blindy.  Or current reality.

Criticize his politics - but not his courage.

      •  I was talking to people close to me (4+ / 0-)

yesterday, and we spoke of the wife and children too.  It's just our history as Americans... some of us know of our history as Americans.  Other people call themselves better than the Tea Party folk, but seem not to know more than Michele Bachman.
