  •  I don't know who is right but I ordered a 60 day (0+ / 0-)

supply of Potassium Iodide pills today for my wife and me just in case the stuff gets loose and comes this way.  I live in NorCal and I feel we're on the front lines.  If any of these reactors gets much worse, these pills will be impossible to get.  They are very scarce or very expensive already.  Amazon is selling 14 tablets for $250 (not direct, through third party).  Most are out of stock.  I don't know if I'll need it, but I'll sleep better knowing they are on the shelf, just in case ill winds blow this way.

You are no where near the "front lines". Anyway, supposing you are right to be worried, you should start eating the pills now. You actually need to start consuming the pills a day or two before the particles get to you for the pills to be effective. You can't have them be "on the shelf" "just in case ill winds blow this way"; it has to be inside you already.

Just a friendly suggestion, so that if you're actually spending close to $20 a pill, you are actually putting them to effective use.
