Thank you for posting this.  I choose not to join any feminist group due to the fact that the youngsters, e.g. children of board members can't attend meetings.

I found the best way to have 'white feminists' open their eyes, is to have their children around discussing feminist issues.  Our family believes in  discussing important social justice issues at home, with our children (email, as well).  Often times, the kids come up w/the most basic, common sense approach, however, they also remind us what's practiced at home sometimes varies in the public sphere. ('keeping it real')

Your diary helps point out that there is a certain type of template that should be revised, especially considering the dynamic of our changing population.  Since folks are on edge due to the enabling of continuing stereotypes for financial gain, I suggest feminist organizations perhaps hold their meetings near Health & Human service organizations rotated w/Senior Community centers, colleges & community medical clinics.  Work within the system to get noticed, so to speak.

    Thank you again!
