I'm coming from the perspective of a queer woman who is white but sometimes taken for generic Mideastern descent.   Though I consider myself a feminist, I do not spend much time working with feminist organizations because I find much of their ideals to be outstanding but their practices to be frustrating, cumbersome and way too oriented around feeling good about what you do vs. accomplishing something important.  To me, the error isn't in feminism but in the fact that so many women do not have an interest in accumulating any sort of power or authority, making it easy for people who are interested in power for the wrong reasons to rise to powerful positions for self-centered motives.  Even though it is often well-intentioned, it is not something I find helpful.
