    and I'm forwarding this to the personal storytellers group.  This morning, my friend Maureen at the Pragmatic Progressive posted a great piece, the first in a series about Irish American history.  This, for me, was the take-away:

    a real Irishman will say “there but for the Grace of God go I” and not “that man’s in trouble because he deserves to be…”

    If you think you're too small to be effective, you've never been in the dark with a mosquito.

      When I called, A answered the phone. Super sweet of course, and when she said "Of course I remember you love!" I was instantly taken back. After an update from both of us, she said "Let me pass the phone to D, he would be thrilled to hear from you."

      I must confess, in my head I thought "Oh thank God."

      I was really worried that one or both would no longer be around as they are both very old. But, not only are they both around, they are alive and well. So great, so great.
