Install 10GW of turbines and you get non conventional baseload of 3.3 GW.

Roughly the same for Solar. but on a best case day you'll generate max.

SO 20% wind can be 60%, solar ditto, thats 120% on a best case day, enough to sell to Canada and Mexico. But statistically avergaed its a 3 to 1 ratio, you just dont know where the wind will be blowing.....

So on a good day, you wont need nat gas turbines for peak power, and coal plants can be shut down for the afternoon for maintenance etc.

And then if Polywell fusion works out, we can have cheap practical fusion power in significant numbers, by say...... 2050.... Fission and coal plants will be shutting down and becoming niche, as well as liquid fuels.

But for now, 20% of electricity from solar in 20 yrs, same for wind.

    We can do it.

That had "solve" the storage problem ...

The GOP voted to cut the Loans to get the Project off the ground,
      along with 600 NV jobs.

Undercutting the Future -- the GOP would Halt Solar Plant in its Tracks

Spectrolabs PV Panels, One project I think 240MW? @ 39.2% efficiency. One of Spectrolabs contractors is doing the install.

        60k Lexus 5 yr loan

60K Boeing panels, 8 yr loan.

While the price of solar and wind electricity goes down, nuke fission foes up. I think we're (no pun intended) hitting a critical point, where financing is going to look at the numbers for financing and leap in to the deep end of the pool with both feet..

If I put those Boeing panels on my roof, they would generate 250% of the electricity I would use in a year. Generating $7500 a year in income for me. SO I could pay off a 60 k loan in 8 yrs and over the life of the panels make another 165k.

SO Mister bank loan officer... what are you going to do?
