  •  It's also about the religion for control. (10+ / 0-)

I don't know if these people are really religious or if they think it is easiest to manipulate people via religion.

It's like when you were a kid and a parent said, "Because I said so." We took that for awhile, but at some point we challenged it. I know some very educated people who challenge things but will say or back off a challenge at the phrase, "It is what God intended."

If you can get almost everyone, educated or not, to stop cold at, "It is what God intended" then you don't need to profit with the schools. You just need the school to indoctrinate and then you have cheap labor for everything else.

    •  it won't work long term (7+ / 0-)

a polite educated person will back off when they hear that phrase because they realize that there is no sense in talking with someone so authoritarian and fearful.   why ruin your own day arguing with a moron?

there comes a point where the god talkers' suggestions and actions begin to threaten the lives and choice of everyone around them.  that's where the pushback begins.

obviously they use religion to manipulate people.  look at their lives; are their actions wjwd?  feed the hungry, take care of widows and orphns in their dstress. etc?

they dress a certain way, they talk a certain way. they cloak their motives and schemes in a certain sort of frame.  taken together, these things add up to an identifying style.  when we see that style, it should be a red flag to us all that these people are out to hurt us.

    •  Religion has ALWAYS been about control one (0+ / 0-)

way or the other.   Many mainline Christian religions are about controlling the thoughts and actions of their adherents.
